We had great fun exploring the different features available in Adobe Express. Our NI innovators demonstrated the use of the drawing tool, guided activities and more.

What a super ACE meetup! I combined all of the activities to make one final piece!!

Activity 1: Letter Art with Catherine

    • Download as a PNG and open a new Express poster:
    • Add content > Generate Image
    • The then was inserted as a composition reference image and I used the prompt:
“A green capital letter P logo filled in with shamrocks, leaves and jungle vines”

    • Next I used Generate Similar and copied and pasted my prompt over and over, just changing the capital letter that I wanted it to produce.

    • Choose Keep Both and repeat.

    • Then Remove Background on each letter and resize/rearrange the letters. I kept my background transparent too (you’ll see why later!).

Activity 2: Celtic Knots with Louise

A great way to explore different brushes, techniques and symmetry! I haven’t actually completed this tutorial the whole way through before so I loved trying out so many different brushes for specific effects!

Activity 3: Guided Activity: Create a generative AI character with Debra

Instead of the paper doll character, I opted for a stained glass window! You can see my prompt in the bottom corner.

    Bonus combination because I’m extra!

    • I used Your Stuff again to bring in my St Patrick letter art (Activity 1). If I didn’t have a transparent background on my original file, I could use Remove Background at this stage!
    • Then, I used Your Stuff to add in my Celtic Knot (Activity 2) as an image, and duplicated it several times and used the Portrait option under Photoshop filters found in the Effects tab to alternate the knots as a tiled header and footer.

Chuffed!! Thank you SO much @debra_8122, Louise and @Catherine_Stewart2504  for such a lovely afternoon. It was such a great vibe and I loved being able to sit back and create quite joyfully!!
