Active fonts not appearing in Indesign

In the past week or so I am having so many font issues! I am trying to use fonts that are active (on fonts.adobe.com they show they are active) but none of them are appearing in my Adobe apps (specifically InDesign). I have spent so much time trying to troubleshoot this. I updated to the latest version of InDesign to see if that changed it. The fonts eventually show up in my Creative Cloud font list once I deactivate and reactivate them, but not in InDesign. I've had to click "Install for non-Adobe apps" in order to use them at all. 

AND there's no way to search in the Creative Cloud app to find the fonts I need to download. The only way to easily find the ones I need is to deactivate and reactivate them on the website so they show up on my "Recently added" list on the app. I hate going back between the website and the app. Please have it all in one place. This is so cumbersome and clunky. Come on Adobe!!!!
