Adobe fonts in Libraries behave oddly

I set up Libraries for other members of my team to easily access elements across applications. Works well for the most part, but I've hit a couple stumbling blocks around fonts I can't find solutions to:

-After Effects: While it sees Adobe fonts added to my Libraries in PS or AI, it won't access them. In PS or AI, I can select a text object, click the font in the Library, and the text style will update. Not so in AE.

-Adobe Express: Any fonts I've added to a Library in PS or AI shows up as grayed out in Express. I can use the fonts in question in Express if I select them from the font selection menu, but if they're in a Library, I can't even select them. These are all Adobe fonts that I've added through my account. Likewise, if I select text in an Express document and try to change the typeface, if I select a Library from the list (if Libraries decide to show up as an option) it invariably says there are no fonts in the Library. "Add fonts to your library to access them quickly in the future!" I can add fonts to a Library in Expess, but not move them to a group.

I'd rather not have to re-add all fonts to my Libraries in Express, then use a desktop app to organize them. Am I doing something wrong, or are these two applications just wonky with Library fonts?

I'm not sure why it would even be necessary to add Adobe Fonts to a library (other than to maybe help simplify organization of a project's assets). Anyone using Adobe CC applications can add/install the same Adobe Fonts if their computer or portable device is properly signed into their CC account.

The library option can be good when uploading font files stored in a computer to a Creative Cloud account.

After Effects has some font limitations; it does not natively support Variable Fonts. There are quite a few variable fonts at the Adobe Fonts site. There could be other technical problems going on as well.

I don't use Adobe Fonts, but I do know there is a forum for that product

Do you want me to move this to the Fonts forum?
