Can I disable Adobe Fonts

I used to be able to turn off Adobe Fonts in the CC preferences, but it seems that is no longer an option.

I prefer to use the fonts I have installed locally, thanks very much, but now Adobe has decided that I should be using the fonts in the cloud. If I open a file that contains a font I don't have activated in my font manager, Adobe Fonts helpfully activates the cloud version. It doesn't even ask, it just does it and then tells me it's been activated. So I have to deactivate it so I can activate my locally installed font.

I'm having other font problems, but this is the most vexing.

I was able to solve my issue! In Extensis Connect I had three Adobe fonts. You cannot remove Adobe fonts from Extensis Connect. When I tried to package my InDesign file it would tell me those three Adobe fonts were protected (all the other weights of the same font were not) and it would not package them. When I logged into Creative Cloud/Fonts I had no fonts in my library or my favorites. I did a search for the font (Gotham Narrow) and there it showed me the weights of bold, medium and book were active and from there I was able to remove them. Once removed, they were also gone from Extensis Connect. Packaging the file no longer tells me those fonts are protected. I would recommend anyone who isn't using Adobe fonts to uncheck "Auto-add Adobe fonts" under Preferences > File Handling in InDesign. Is there an easier way to see what fonts are active on Creative Cloud/Fonts?

Never mind. Found it! You have to launch the CC App to see the list of active fonts and change your preferences. I was trying to do that from the website which doesn't work.

It's always useful to tell the other users how you did it! 🙂

the way I like best is going to the CC app

choose "manage fonts" in the left panel:

Then go to active fonts and deactivate them as you wish by going to active fonts.

You can even reactivate previously deactivated ones by going to "previously active" and re-activate from there.

Obviously you can also go directly on Adobe fonts:

    and go to manage fonts

On the top right side of the window...

    Hope it helps!

I didn't want to just deactivate fonts, I wanted to completely disable Adobe Fonts because I prefer to use my locally installed fonts.

Here is how I did it:

In the CC App, go to Preferences > Services
