Question

Can I use web fonts for commercial projects or client work?

I've created a web project for a clients website. And I am trying to figure out if the client is able to publish their site using the typekit link I generated or if they need to remake it on their end and generate a different unique link?

I believe the client needs their own CC subscription and to generate their own Typekit link. If it were me I would

    (a) make them aware of the limitations of this (including: if their subscription lapses, their website breaks; Adobe could remove fonts)

    (b) give them the budget required to purchase web font licenses and host them instead

it's funny. right after I posted this I found an FAQ that basically stated that. Glad I checked though. now I just gotta make it happen. Thanks!

Depending on where in the world you live, using web fonts hosted by Google or Adobe or a different hosting company may also bring you in conflict with privacy legislation. I always consider storing the font locally, even when that increases my webpage load.
