Does anyone know which software to use to create variable fonts? I've found that glyphsapp and robofont are used a fair bit. Is there anything else? Does adobe have a programme for this?

There is no Adobe program that allows you to create fonts. You'll have to turn to 3rd parties programs to build them.
Fontlab allows variable fonts, Glyphs too. Maybe others (fontographer, fontforge?)
    check that one:

There is a pluging for Photoshop or illustrator (fontself) but they don't allow variable fonts as of now (but probably in the pipeline)

No, Adobe has no publicly available program to create fonts. You could use Illustrator to draw the fonts, but that would not get you a font file for use in all programs.

    Hi Tarun,
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, it's not quite what i'm looking for. I would like to create a variable font from scratch and want to know which software to use.
    Thanks in advance.
