Question

Do available fonts differ from desktop to iPad?

I'm trying to use the font Orbital from Rebel R41 in my project. From a web browser, I can find and add the font just find. However, from the Creative Cloud app on my iPad, the font doesn't seem to exist at all. Looking around, it seems there are others that are not available through the app either. Whether through searching the name or just scrolling through the list, they're just not there. Any help??

I've searched for it by name and scrolled through the font list multiple times, but it's nowhere to be found. I know other users have faced similar issues with fonts not showing up in the mobile app, and I'm starting to wonder if this is a common limitation.

Hi @mariah76711684! Those are some newer fonts on our service and the Creative Cloud mobile app may not yet have caught up with our latest additions. I’ll look into this for you.

That would be great, thank you!

Normally any fonts that are added via the Adobe Fonts service should be visible to any Adobe CC apps installed on an iPad. In the Creative Cloud iPad app those fonts should appear in the Added Fonts list. If recently added fonts aren't showing up in that list try these two steps first. Reboot the iPad and then open the CC app and check the Adobe Fonts list. If that doesn't work try signing out of the CC iPad app and then signing back in. That can force the CC app to update account sync.

If you're using iPad apps not made by Adobe those apps can access Adobe Fonts if they are installed using the Creative Cloud iPad app.

It's also possible to upload your own purchased fonts to your CC account using the Creative Cloud app. It's easier to do that using a desktop computer or notebook computer running Windows or Mac OSX. Once uploaded those fonts should be accessible on an iPad as long as it is signed in to the same CC account.

I tried both the steps you suggested, and still no luck. It seems the Creative Cloud app on desktop and the Creative Cloud app on iPad have do not have access to the same list of fonts, which is a huge bummer. I can activate other fonts on desktop and see them appear in the Creative Cloud app on iPad, but if they're not on the "list" of fonts available on iPad, they will not appear, and it's as if they don't exist at all. A huge shortcoming of the iPad app in my opinion.

Is your iPad signed into a different Creative Cloud account? Such a thing is rare, but I've seen it happen. That's the only other culprit I can think of besides the iPad losing sync with a CC account. I have an iPad Pro and it has no problem showing all the fonts I added to my CC account.
