Favorited Photoshop Fonts Disappearing

I take time to favorite my most used fonts, and Photoshop keeps deleting them. This has happened twice now. Anyone know a fix to this? I am on the most up-to-date version of PS, and working on a MAC system. 

ugh, why is Adobes Font management still atrocious? its been so aggravating for like 2 decades now.
