Hi,

I have created a packaging design and now I want to send it (source file in AI) to the printing house. But some of the label elements will be changed dynamically depending on day, series etc. So the printing house need also font file. Now, how can I send a font file if CC fonts are synced, not stored in windows font folder? Is it possible? They need font file from me to start print.

You cannot (and in fact were never allowed to unless you paid for an extra font license).

The printing house will presumably have Illustrator subscription, this means they will also have access to Adobe fonts.

If the printing house doesn't understand their job, it may be necessary to change printer, or to buy a license for a copy of each font to send them.

So they have to buy just for me CC subscription? 😵 I was talking to them and they want PDF not AI file because they use Corel not Adobe apps. So in this case I have to find simillar font from free Google catalog or FontSquirrel? Paying 200 USD for the same font I already have in CC subscription would be crazy, especially when I do this design for 150 USD. 🤷‍♂

I see you understand the choices completely. Adobe want to sell more subscriptions, so this is a good choice for them.

But really, it is impossible to imagine that Adobe would freely give you the font files for anything in Adobe Fonts. That is something like 20,000 fonts. Adobe sell "Font Folio", 2300 fonts for US$9000, so the full download from Adobe Fonts would be worth about $70,000. In addition, Adobe don't even own the rights to do that for most of the fonts. One of the reason that the font makers allow their fonts to be in the subscription is because the font makers know that many people WILL spend the 200 dollars for the fonts they need.
