FontExplorer X Pro no longer able to manage Adobe Fonts

I have a large number of Adobe Fonts activated and I use FontExplorer X Pro to manage them so that the font lists I see in a given application, like InDesign, is small and manageable.

Recently (I wish I could pinpoint when this happened but I cannot) all of my activated Adobe Fonts appear in the font lists in applications, regardless of whether or not I have them turned on or off in FontExplorer.

Has anyone else experienced this? I don’t know if this is an Adobe issue or a FontExplorer issue. I have reached out to FontExplorer support and am waiting for a response. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi, on 01/20/22 I got this answer from support(at)monotype:
    "Hello ,

Thank you for writing to us.

Unfortunately, we do not have a timeline for the release date for Adobe 2022 plug-ins for now.

Our team is working on this. We will soon have more information for you, which will be posted on our website as well. Please stay tuned.

We ask for your understanding and appreciate your patience.

    Best regards

Well, they had half a year now since the 2022 version is on the run. I think they've got massive problems to publish version 8 (8.0.0 is mentioned in the support form list) due to all the Apple changings and the fact that the new Adobe font management may cause conflicts, either by software or by law (licensing).
I doubt we have to abandon FEX.

They have not upgraded the plugins in TWO YEARS!!! I have paid for this product and upgrades multiple times. Very upset.  Now, MANY FONTS that are not Adobe, EVEN AFTER BEING ACTIVATED in Font Explorer, are NOT AVAILABLE in the Photoshop menu. I have cleared font caches for Adobe applications as well as the system. They still don't show up in the menu, and they are in the document! So Photoshop says I can't edit the text. Crazy. I am about to look for an alternative... I just have so much effort invested in classifying and commenting on my fonts to organize them. Anybody have suggestions?

    Hi there,

Sorry for the frustration. Currently, there is a known issue with our sync services, which affects the fonts services. The team is actively working on the issue.

You may also track the status at https://status.adobe.com/

    We're sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thanks,

I'm also having this issue on my Mac. In the past when I activeated a TypeKit font whithin an app (InDesign or Photoshop), the web browser would indicate that the font was activated, and simultaneously I would get a notification from FontExplorer X Pro (server) that the font was activated. Now I get the notification only in the web browser and none from FontExplorer X Pro, and the fonts do not activate on my mac.
    Any help would be great.
