Helvetica Neue LT Pro fonts are not available on the Adobe Fonts

We just found 14 fonts for Helvetica Neue LT Pro on Adobe Fonts. Compared with the font list provided by Monotype, total 50 fonts, there are still many fonts not available on Adobe Fonts. We would like to know when these fonts will be ready on Adobe Fonts.

Hi @hisonw79303727,

Welcome to the community! Thank you so much for your interest in Helvetica Neue LT Pro and for taking the time to share this feedback with us.

We’re always looking to expand the Adobe Fonts library with the typefaces our customers need most. While we can’t share a timeline for specific additions, your suggestion has been noted and will help us prioritize future updates.

Is this the reason why my Illustrator is showing Helvetica Neue LT Pro Heavy vs Medium on the PDF version?

If you're placing or opening PDF files in Adobe apps like InDesign or Illustrator the apps will try to find the nearest equivalent to any missing fonts. The Helvetica Neue package at Adobe Fonts is a limited selection of 14 fonts from the Helvetica Neue type family, which has around 50 fonts.

It would be nice if the complete Helvetica Neue type family was available thru Adobe Fonts, but Monotype and Adobe would have to update their agreement to make that possible. Several other type families from Monotype hosted at Adobe Fonts have the same problem. Some other type foundries also have limited versions of type families available at Adobe Fonts. However, this is more of an exception than a rule. Most type families at Adobe Fonts are complete.

This is correct.
After a discussion with Monotype. they have provided info about the Font spec.
https://www.myfonts.com/collections/neue-helvetica-font-linotype?tab=techSpecs

It show that the Helvetica Neue LT Pro Heavy is considered Medium Bold. ( Print screen attached. )

I agree, Adobe should be in line with Monotype.

Bonjour,

Merci 🙂

Helvetica Neue only has Extra Black styles in condensed widths. The type family does not have Extra Black styles in the regular and extended width range. The Helvetica Now type family has some of that extra heavy weight capability in the regular and condensed ranges. The variable version of Helvetica Now covers that really well. Unfortunately Helvetica Now doesn't do anything with extended styles of Helvetica. I'm doubting Monotype will fill that gap. The static versions of Helvetica Now were released in 2019 and the variable version was released a couple years later. It's 2025 now and no extended styles of Helvetica Now have been released.
