Hi @angelas59768293, I don't completely understand what you want or need to do. But specific font references must be written into the CSS of the epub document in order for it to display across a variety of reading devices. But how that font looks for the end user may be inconsistent. Can you give us any more specific details about what you are attempting? What do you mean, "without having the file on my system"? How are you viewing the epub? With a browser? On a device?

Well I will try to do my best to discribe it. English ist not my First languange.

When i Programm E-books, i Use Sigil or Calibre. I Put the "Fontface" Part into the css and into the specific classes where i want them to show in the HTML.

Usually i had to install the TFF or otf into the Epub file, but literally load it into the file via Sigil or calibre. and then do the steps i discribed int he paragraph above. that how i am used to embed fonts into an epub. But since i am a beginner i guess there are diffrent ways.

Since we can't actually download the TFF files from adobe fonts on our computers, i can't do it the way i discribed.

Or did i overlook something somewhere.

Okay, thank you for that extra information. I'm not sure if you will be able to change the CSS file if you can't access the epub file directly yourself. Where and how are you viewing the epub? On a reader device, like Nook or Kindle? On a website with a browser like Chrome, Edge, or Safari? Who is the author of the epub and do you have their permission to change the font in the document? What is the reason you need or want to change the font on this document you can't access directly?
