Installed Fonts Aren't Found

Question

I'm having an issue with fonts added via Adobe Fonts not actually being available in Adobe programs. The family inquestion is Roboto and, no matter what I've done up to this point, only regular, italic, and bold are available to use in any Adobe program. Furthermore, even if both myself and another person have Roboto installed on their machines via Creative Cloud, if I open a file created by someone else it'll tell me that a font is missing, likewise if I create a file that uses Roboto and someone else opens it.

Uninstalled and reinstalled individual fonts one at a time, or uninstalled all and reinstalled all
Made sure that they're installed for all local programs
Signed out of CC, restarted, and then signed back in
Made angry faces and grunts

I lead a small team and this is creating a major issue in that I cannot review or edit any InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop files that use Roboto (our company's primary typeface), as none of the programs are able to render non-outlined text as they were designed by my team. I've read through more than a few community threads here elsewhere, and most of them are all saying the same things that's I've already tried.

Are there any other workarounds or solutions to this issue?

Have you tried deleting the font data cache to force the computer to re-build it? Sometimes that can help solve odd font issues.

I hate to throw any shade at Google Fonts since it is a really good resource, but I've seen more than a few type families from Google have odd technical problems. I've seen it from fonts downloaded from the Google Fonts web site and I've seen it via Google Fonts offered thru the Adobe Fonts site. Sometimes the version at Google Fonts acts oddly in some applications while the version of the same typeface at Adobe Fonts works just fine. I've seen it go vice versa too. Months later I could go back to the Google Fonts web site and download another copy of an ill-behaved typeface and the new version would probably work correctly.

Roboto has had a number of build versions. If the version of Roboto currently at Adobe Fonts won't work correctly (even after deleting/resetting the font data cache) then it might be worth downloading a copy of Roboto from Google Fonts to see if it works any better.

Regarding font substitution issues, multiple scenarios can affect Roboto. The version from Adobe Fonts may not be exactly the same as the downloadable version at Google Fonts. Roboto also has regular static font files and a variable version. If two people are sharing a document with text styled in Roboto they need to be using the exact same version to avoid font substitution issues.
