Question

ITC Avant Garde Gothic Pro on Powerpoint

Hello to all,

I would like to ask you something about the use of the ITC Avant Garde Gothic font.
Indeed, I have activated this font via my Creative Cloud license, on Adobe Fonts. It works perfectly well on Adobe software, but when I use it on Powerpoint, I can't get the glyphs/ligatures associated to the font.
How can I activate them via Powerpoint?

Also, I would like to know if you can answer this other question:
If I use this typeface in a Powerpoint template for a client, will that client have access to the typeface or will he have to have a license as well to be able to see this specific font on the template?

Thank you so much for your help!

Starting with the last question, yes, the client would need to separately license the typeface if the client doesn't have a license to the Adobe Creative Cloud.

In terms of use of additional glyphs in PowerPoint, there is nothing that you need to “activate” in terms of the font. The real problem is that PowerPoint is somewhat brain dead in terms of its support for automatic OpenType features (such as automatic ligatures, alternate renditions, etc. The only way you can get those in PowerPoint is to go to the Insert tab and select Symbol in the Symbols section. You then get a glyph chart where you can choose characters from the current font in use or any other font active on your system. Yes, that is a royal pain in the tuchas, but the only Microsoft Office application that begins to provide any level of real OpenType feature access is Word, and even that isn't all that great.
