Ligature Problem with District Pro Font in German (ss -> ß)

Hi, I have a weird problem using District Pro in German: All instances of ss (double small s) are being replaced by ß (eszet). Only way to turn this off is to change the language, which of course turns off hyphenation, therefore not an option. This is definitely the wrong behaviour and does not happen with any other font.

As far as I can see this is a bug and should be fixed.

Hello – It sounds like you have contextual alternates turned on, as described in this article:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/special-characters.html

In the OpenType panel, do any of the following:
    • Click the Standard Ligatures button to enable or disable ligatures for standard letter pairs (such as fi, fl, ff, ffi, and ffl).

    • Click the Discretionary Ligatures button to enable or disable optional ligatures (if available in the current font).

    • Click the Contextual Alternates button to enable or disable contextual alternates (if available in the current font).

Please check and let us know if that resolves the issue.

    Best regards,

    Molly

    Molly,

sorry, I should have stated that this is an InDesign Problem. I do not have an Open Typ Panel in Indesign, do I? Also this does not happen with any other font (not with the Type1 District Font we currently use), and it happens right after activating the Font from the Creative Suite.

    Thx

    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,

Thanks for the details. We would like to know if this is only happening with InDesign or other Adobe apps as well.

We will try our best to help.

    Thanks,

    Harshika
