I am looking for a font that could be identified with Native Americans.  Not Cherokee, which has its own language.

thank you.

Many tribes have their own distinct languages. The Cherokee tribe developed a unique alphabet (or rather a syllabary), but those glyphs could be styled in different typefaces. Not many fonts have a Cherokee character set though.

What kind of project are you working on? Is it a personal project or a job for a specific tribe organization? It can be tricky to choose typefaces that are appropriate. If you're working on a project for a specific tribe check for any branding or graphics examples they may already have. That can help lead to a good starting point. Not everyone wants to evoke themes of the Old West.

I am an east coast Lenape descendant, I am looking for something that is easy to read, show well online and reflect me heritage.

Have you looked at the Delaware Tribe's official web site https://delawaretribe.org? It could be a source for some ideas. Some of the graphics on that site uses Intro by Fontfabric. A couple styles of Intro are available for free. The full version of Intro has 72 styles and Intro Rust has a whopping 214 styles. It looks like the Delaware-Lenape logo uses a Black weight of Franklin Gothic.

Yellow Design Studio has some great typefaces that have clean and weathered styles (Thirsty Script, Draft, Veneer, Sucrose, Eveleth, etc). Several of Yellow Design's type families are available to sync at Adobe Fonts (but currently there is a technical problem going on with the fonts service).

I live in Southwest Oklahoma and occasionally do graphics work for Comanche, Apache and Kiowa tribe organizations.
