Question

Old fonts don't work on new computer

After many years I got a new Mac and now have the full CC subscription.  I have docs in InDesign that used ITC and truetype fonts on the old system and the fonts don't work now.  For example, I need to use Garanond Titling and Maiandra GD fonts (as examples) and can't find the new versions anywhere.  I need to get my docs usable in new CC apps.  I don't know what to do next.  Thanks for any help.

Adobe have ended support for Postcript type 1fonts a while ago now.

If that's the case, see this post here with the announcement...

You will need to find more recent fonts

You can see what's on offer on Adobe Fonts (https://fonts.adobe.com/)
they are included with your subscription, no need to buy those again...

You can then run a find and replace fonts in InDesign
https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/indesign/kb/error-fonts-currently-available-incopy.html

Some software (like transtype) offer to convert old PS fonts to Open type ones, but I haven't tried it, so cannot recommend.

If you got an image version of your text, you can ask InDesign to match the font, and find it for you:

Hope it helps!
