Optical size range for Source Serif 4

Question

What is the optical size range for Source Serif 4 versions? The range can vary based on the font's design characteristics, and I'm able to find general guidelines, but I'm curious if anyone knows the specific size ranges intended for the Display, Subhead, Regular, Small Text, and Caption versions of Source Serif 4.

Ex.

Caption: 6 and 8 points

Small text: 8 to 11 points

Regular or Body text: 11 to 14 points

Subhead: 14 to 24 points

Display: above 24 points

Hi @Becca5F95 — ah yes missed this one, ~32 for the Subhead.

Also worth noting that if you use the variable font version and an application such as InDesign it will handle the optical sizing automatically for you. https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/source-serif-4-variable

Hi @Becca5F95, I checked in with the designer of Source Serif on our team, Frank, and he suggests the following as a general guidance:

8pt Caption
16pt Small Text
20pt Text

32pt Subhead
60pt Display
