I'm trying to use the Hypatia Sans Pro font in one of my projects, but the font itself as it is loaded it's height on desktop is off. This is how it looks:

The problem I have is identical to this issue described here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/28101813/fix-custom-font-line-height-with-css

On mobile it displays correctly.

Are you able to fix the typekit font file please?

I look forward to your reply.

Hi

@blissful_radiance6714

Welcome to the community! We're sorry to hear about this. To better understand and resolve the issue with the Hypatia Sans Pro font, could you please answer some of the questions below-

  1.  Which browsers and devices are you experiencing the issue on? Have you tried clearing the browser cache or testing on different browsers and devices?
  2.  Can you share the CSS declaration you're using for the Hypatia Sans pro font?
  3.  Have you checked if the font files are not corrupted? Sometimes, re-uploading the font files to your website can resolve display issues.

We're here to help, just need some info.

Regards,

Hello,

The font is loaded by the Adobe typekit cdn. It's an external service so I don't have control over what adobe is serving as a font. I observed this issue on windows desktop, chrome browser.

The problem is with the vertical metrics. If I try to use a local copy of Hypatia Sans Pro font and upload it on transfonter.org and check the option "Fix vertical metrics" while converting, then this fixes the problem. So the issue is with the font file being served by the typekit cdn and that font file needs to be corrected in order to be able to use this font for Web projects.

I hope you understand what I'm saying.

Hi @blissful_radiance6714

Thank you for the additional details. Would it be possible to share a web project we could look at with the issue?

Thanks,
Dave
