Question

Proxima Nova de-syncing multiple times per day

Exactly what the title says,  Proxima Nova is de-syncing about every 45-60 minutes a day. This wouldn't be such a big issue if it wasn't OUR PRIMARY FONT. It's in 90% of the files I'm working on. Randomly while working in a file Proxima Nova will pink out and just give me a faceful of Myriad Pro (the answer to the question "what if Comic Sans went to community college?").

In order to recover I have to either restart the whole machine or manually remove and re-ad the Proxima Nova family via the app, either way I'm losing 5-10 minutes and my workflow.

Any insight into why this is happening?

Lots of extra jank in the CC app lately, generally poor performance all around in apps, but this one is baffling me.

If you haven't already tried these trouble shooting steps already, the first thing to try is logging out of the Creative Cloud account, rebooting the computer and then logging back into the account. That can force the Adobe Fonts list to properly refresh itself.

In some cases that font data cache may have errors. Deleting it can force the system to re-build it. The description how to do that is on this page:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-illustrator-indesign.html

If those steps don't solve the problem there could be some other conflict, such as another app running in the background. I've had headaches moving artwork created in CorelDRAW into Adobe Illustrator; I can't have both applications running simultaneously because it causes some styles of fonts to disappear from the fonts list, sometimes even with fonts synced from Adobe Fonts.

Does everyone who uses Proxima Nova at your organization rely on the type family via Adobe Fonts? Or do some users have regular copies of the fonts installed directly into the operating system?

We are all using it via Adobe Fonts. We've been using it consistantly for several years and only recently has it become any sort of issue.  It's also suddenly causing grief embedded in presentation decks, so it may be a bigger issue. It's just slamming on the brakes at random 5-6 times a day is frustrating to me.

Thanks for the link, I'm also going ot get IT to do a fresh install of CC and see if that helps.
