Sharing documents with adobe fonts

Hi @jellev82776816, if you are sharing just for viewing purposes then you can export the documents as a PDF so others can view them in the correct formatting.

If you need to collaborate on the documents, your colleagues will need to have licenses to the fonts to use them too. It could either make sense to get them their own subscriptions if they will be editing in an Adobe app (although you mention they dont need the software), or go directly to the type foundry to purchase a license.

Logos, word marks and other brand identity elements really shouldn't contain lettering based on live fonts. The lettering really should be converted to outlines. This will eliminate font substitution issues if the artwork is opened on another computer. There is also the outside chance kerning or tracking values can be altered if the file is opened on a different computing platform or if the file is opened years later in a different version of graphics software.

Some typefaces, such as Futura for example, have numerous versions from different type companies. They're all slightly different from each other. FuturaPT from Paratype isn't the same as Bitstream's Futura BT. If a logo has live type set in Futura Now Variable but someone on another computer substitutes it with URW's version the logo isn't going to look right.

For other text objects (headlines, body copy, etc) they can be maintained as editable type objects. Usually PDFs that are saved by Adobe Illustrator or InDesign will embed fonts into the document. It would still be a good idea to preview the PDF in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to make sure the fonts are included.
