Question

Suffix at the font, when using fonts from the (own) font cloud

Hi Community,

when we use fonts in the Adobe Apps, from our own Adobe Font Cloud, they get a 4-digit code at the end, e.g. 'bc39.xxx'. Is this a unique ID of the font used in the cloud or does it have a different meaning?

Many thanks
Frank

Are you seeing that code next to the font names of any type family synced from Adobe Fonts? Which application are you using? I've never seen extra numbers next to font names like that with any fonts I've synced from Adobe Fonts.

We do not see the code in the font menu or on the font name in Indesign or Illustrator.
We see the code e.g. in Indesign under menu bar: Font/Font search/replace and if you then click on the font and 'More information' in the dialog. The path then reads: Users/Library/Application Support/Adobe/.User Owned Fonts/Fontname-bc39.otf / ttf
And the font is also collected with this code. And this code is then also displayed on the font for other workstations.

This code is only available for fonts from 'our cloud instance'. If we load fonts from the AdobeCloud into an Indesign document, the path: 'Activated by Adobe Fonts'.
