Question

Sync fonts across multiple users

I have a business account with multiple users. When one user activates a font, is there a way to activate that font for all other users on my business account?

We use a combination of Adobe and non-Adobe apps. We have frequent issues where non-Adobe apps don’t have the fonts and get converted to paths. Ideally, there would be an option that when one user activates a font, it becomes active for all users and is made available in non-Adobe apps. Is this possible?

Regarding non-Adobe apps being able to use Adobe Fonts, those fonts need to be "installed" in the fonts section of the Creative Cloud app. When the fonts are first added via the Adobe Fonts web site they're initially visible only to Adobe apps. The extra install step makes them visible to other applications.

I'm not sure if there is a way to make a font appear to all users of a business account when it is added. However, when someone opens a document in an Adobe application and fonts are missing the font dialog box will offer to add the missing fonts if they're available at Adobe Fonts. Non-Adobe apps don't have such functions; any Adobe Fonts used have to be installed via the CC app on that person's computer.

As you mentioned, I understand when opening a file within Adobe, Adobe will prompt to download the missing fonts. I also understand that I can “install” the fonts to make them available to other apps. My question is can I automate this? When one user activates a font, it automatically installs on their machine and the machine of the other designers within my team account. We rely heavily on other software in conjunction with Adobe. My main problem is when opening a file in a non-Adobe app, the user doesn’t have the necessary font and has to track it down. This is tedious, especially with multiple designers collaborating on projects with lots of different fonts. This may seem like a simple issue but it creates a lot of frustration amongst the team. Proposed ideas like everyone using an approved font list has been met with much resistance. In today’s age, it shouldn’t be hard to sync fonts across multiple accounts.

    Hi @MCampo,

Thank you for reaching out. To better understand your workflow and provide the most relevant guidance, could you please share:

    • Are the fonts you're referring to Adobe Fonts or fonts purchased/licensed from another provider?
    • Are all users part of the same Adobe Creative Cloud for Teams/Enterprise account?
    • Which non-Adobe applications are you primarily using?
    • Are the fonts missing only on certain users' devices, or for everyone except the user who activated them?
    • Are you looking for a centralized way to deploy and manage fonts across your organization?

As a possible workaround, if all users need access to the same fonts in both Adobe and non-Adobe applications, your IT team may need to install the required fonts on each user's device or deploy them through your organization's font management solution, subject to the font licensing terms.

    Regards,

    • My issue is with Adobe fonts.
    • All users are part of the same Teams account.
    • We primarily use Flexi Design and Enroute by SA International. These are design software similar to Illustrator with additional features to run sign manufacturing equipment.
    • The fonts are missing for users who did not activate them. Basically, if one user activates a font, I want it to automatically activate and install of all other users on my team account.
    • Yes, I would like a centralized way to manage and deploy fonts across my organization.
    • I’m trying to avoid manually installing fonts for each user.
