Question

Unable to install this font

I have a specific font that I use every day for my job. Proxima Nova. Today I was unable to use the font and went to make sure it was properly installed. Upon hitting the refresh button multiple times I just get a message saying "Unable to install this font"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all Adobe apps, Adobe Creative Cloud, I have run the CreativeCloudCleaner Tool and nothing works.

I can install and use all other fonts, even the italic versions of the font I'm trying to use, but the primary font that is essential to my job is unavailable and cannot be downloaded. Please help me resolve this urgent issue.

Wanted to add... I've been having an ongoing issue of not being able to install fonts onto font book for months and I finally found a fix, I validated all the fonts and deleted any with the yellow alert symbol.

Just wanted to throw out there that temporarily deactivating my VPN allowed all the fonts to load.  Hope this helps someone in the future!

I'm having a problem with the same font, actually. Only four of the 16 fonts in the family will install. This is a new computer (Macbook Pro Max), purchased less than a week ago. All I've installed on it so far besides the core Apple programs it came with are Adobe products, Steam, Chrome, and a VPN. I did try logging out of CC, restarting, and logging back in, but the font in question is still throwing the error. Since I only just installed the program, it seems unlikely that a reinstall would be a viable solution.

Are you installing fonts into the computer's operating system (OSX Font Book)? Or are you adding/installing them via the Adobe Fonts web site and Creative Cloud Desktop App? Which type family is it?

The family is Proxima Nova, like the OP. I'm installing them via Creative Cloud's font manager.

I am having this problem as well with Myriad Pro. It can load half of the fonts in the family but not the other half, and i use them daily. I have indeed tried signing out and back in. Did you have any luck fixing this?

Aside from logging out of your Creative Cloud account and logging back in again (and maybe even rebooting the computer in between those two steps) it's possible to clear up some errors by deleting the Font Cache.

Are you using Adobe applications such as Illustrator or InDesign when using the typeface? Or is it not working in some other graphics applications? I know CorelDRAW and its built-in font management app can cause some headaches. Adobe Illustrator has a bundled variable version of Myriad. Adobe Fonts has Myriad VF in addition to static styles of Myriad Pro.

I assume you've already tried logging out of your Creative Cloud account and back in again, correct? Sometimes logging out/in can correct font sync errors. Shutting down the computer after logging out of Creative Cloud and then restarting and logging back in can also flush some corrupted temporary data.

I was able to add and install Proxima Nova Semibold on my computer system. In your screen shot it looks like the font is "added," but is it even loading in Adobe applications? I wonder if there some other piece of software on your computer running in the background that could be interfering with the font add/install process. Some third party font management utilities can sometimes cause issues.
