Creative Cloud keeps issuing statements that some of the fonts need updating to work outside of Adobe apps - but it doesn't say HOW, there are no obvious "update" buttons and searhing online doesn't come close to addressing the issue

Are you getting messages about any specific type families or is it just a general message? Font files can be updated from time to time, either to fix bugs or add new features (or more glyphs). Adobe Fonts that are installed for other non-Adobe apps to use will have some hidden data saved on the computer.

I agree it would be great if there was an "update" button or update notices included in the Adobe Fonts section of the Creative Cloud Desktop App. Heck, I just wish the fonts list had a proper scroll bar that worked. But that's a different problem. Anyway, the most direct way to get Adobe Fonts updated is by removing font families and then adding (and installing) them again.

The exact notification on Creative Cloud says "Some fonts need an update to keep using them outside Adobe apps. Use Creative Cloud to manage your fonts." There's no indication WHICH fonts are at issue, so removing and reinstalling isn't possible. Nothing I'm able to find in Creative Cloud even MENTIONS updating fonts, never mind how to do it!

If there is a newer version of a particular type family uploaded to Adobe Fonts you would get it by removing the type family you currently have installed and then adding it from Adobe Fonts again (and then installing it for all apps if needed).

How many fonts do you have synced via Adobe Fonts? Hundreds or even thousands? I personally have only a couple hundred synced at any given time and regularly remove families I'm not using. It's easy to go back and add a family I previously removed. There is a "remove all" button in the CC Desktop app. Sometimes I'll do a complete flush and then just add back the fonts I need. I have zero interest at all in "adding" or "installing" a huge number of Adobe Fonts, especially since the CC Desktop App makes it very difficult to scroll through the fonts list. It's far easier to manage a limited number of actively used fonts.
