Webfont - CC subscription or buy from 3rd party vendor?

I want to use this font on a website: Halcom | Adobe Fonts

 

Our branding agency said it was free to use on web projects - but as their client it looks like we have to pay for use of the font too? Is this correct? Or can we use their licence?

 

If we have to pay - there seem to be 2 available options:

  1. https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/northernblock/halcom/
  2. Creative Suite subscription

 

Is this correct? Can we just buy the 3 fonts we need from myfonts.com as a one-off purchase, or do we have to purchase an annual creative suite subscription?

    Thank you for reaching out. Web projects must be in a Creative Cloud account owned by the owners of the website. You can either create a web project in your own subscription and then contact us to have it transferred to your client, or the client can set it up for you and provide you with the embed code.

     

    if you purchase the web fonts from myfonts you will need to host the fonts themselves.

    Also: from time to time fonts are removed from Adobe Fonts. This is intolerable for branding.

    The client can purchase a subscription. But if I were then, I would absolutely reject this option. No company would want to tie its website and branding to a random subscription, that could stop by accident eg if a staff member leaves. Adobe web fonts for prototyping, certainly, and the client cost to purchase a perpetual license in the quote.
