Question

Adobe Premiere (iPad) Not Exporting

I’m using the updated version of Premiere on the iPad and I’m trying to export a 4:57 min video at these settings:

Resolution: 720

Frame rate: 30

Quality: Medium

Estimated file size: 277.2 MB

For further reference, the video includes captions, text, and some PNGs on top of the video.

After updating the app, updating my iPad to iOS 26.4, and restarting my iPad, I can’t get the export progress to go beyond 40%. I’ve waited for over 30 minutes, and I’ve also experimented with other export settings. When I opted for the lowest quality settings, the progress wouldn't even go beyond %21. I also tend to get the message “Can’t export. Something went wrong. Please try again.”

What can I do to export the video (besides exporting it to desktop)? Exporting to desktop is my last resort since I would then have to do significant amounts of re-editing.

Hey Nikole, sorry for the frustration.

First thing to check is the storage on your iPad! Make sure there’s plenty of room for your finished project to be saved.

If you have plenty of storage and it still won’t work, let’s try this.

  • Go to the home screen of Premiere Mobile (as if you just opened the app)
  • Select the … menu next to your project and select “duplicate”
  • In the duplicated version of your project, delete the captions/text/PNGs so only your edited video is left in the project.
  • Try to export the edited video using your desired settings.

Hopefully it will work! I’m wondering if the cuts + the captions + text + PNG overlays is maxing out your iPad’s processing abilities for some reason. By simplifying your project, maybe we can reduce the processing load and allow the video to be exported.

Once your video is exported…

  • Go back to your original project
  • Delete the videos on V1 of your project so that only the captions + text + PNGs are left in the project
  • Add your exported video to the project and replace the V1 with the whole video

Again, maybe by removing all the cuts in the project, it will allow you to export your captions + PNGs + text on your video.

Let us know,

Caroline
