Prevent cutting video from deleting underlying audio and shifting text layers

When I split or delete video clips (or photos) on the app, it automatically deletes or shifts any custom audio tracks sitting underneath them… even if the audio is also beneath the end of a different clip
 

Is there any way to stop/disable that? Thanks
