1 hour encode to 12 hours?

Question

My problem has just recently started and I don't quite understand as nothing has changed. I record and edit a game called Universim on YouTube and yesterday Media Encoder told me it would take 12 hours to encode my 35 minute video. This normally would take about 45 minutes to maybe an hour. The story gets even stranger as this seems to only be happening with the Universim gameplay videos.

My GPU utilization is always at 100% which I have no problem with as I usuall do something else, but when the encoder is taking 12 hours I can only do something else for so long. I really need to get this fixed. It just started yesterday and makes no sense to me.

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor 3.8 GHz

32 GB DDR5 Memory

R9 290x Radeon Graphics Card

An apparently trivial effect can have a huge difference. I saw something similar when using a wave effect on a still picture of the sea, for example. Try going back to an archived project from last week and compare times.
