Adobe Media Encoder Crashes entire computer

I am encoding Quicktime Source files from my Avid Media Composer. And at least once a day, if I encode something in AME in the background, after it starts a file, about 5 or 10seconds of encoding..suddenly...BAM! Black screens and a full restart. It is a pretty rare problem where an application takes the system down. So I find it quite alarming.

Funny thing is after it crashes, it will encode.

It seems to be a combo of Avid MC and AME running at  the same time.

But only crashes some of the time.

Mac Pro 2012 (Westmere)

96gigs RAM

NVIDIA Card

High Sierra

Latest AME software (totally up to date as of today)

    Hi adobefishman,

Sorry for the issue. I understand you are getting crash issues with AME. Please try changing the video renderer and then test the issue.

Let us know if it works.

    Thanks,

    Shivangi
