Question

AME drops effects on random frames when rendered

I have a comp in After Effects with a lot of layers and effects applied to its nested compositions, basically it's a generative abstract pattern, no video footage there, everything is generated inside AE. The final parent composition is a pretty heavy in effects comp, that I output to 4K@60fps video.

It renders well in preview in AE.

But when I render it in AME, the resulting video has random flickering frames. When I find those specific flickering frames on video I see that those frames contain only part of the effects applied, or only a specific nested composition ignoring masks or blending modes or parent effects, etc. (no specific pattern, all of those problems randomly).

When I find those exact frame in AE — I do not see those problems.

So it's obviously a AME rendering problem.

Does anyone encountered that kind of a problem? Any solution to that?

My system:

AE 22.2.0

AME 22.2 (I also tried 22.1.1, the same result)

MacBook Pro 2019 with macOS 12.1

I'm able to render out using built-in Render Queue in AE — all effects are in place, no dropped frames. It means the problem is obviously with AME.
