AME - Mixdown from 8 discrete channel .mpg file to stereo ProRes? Is it possible

I have a .mpg file with video and 8 discrete channels of audio that I'm trying to transcode to a stereo ProRes .mov file. I assumed in transcoding that the 8 discrete audio channels would be mixdown on the ProRes export BUT that is not the case. Please advise.

thx

Should be also possible in AME. I just tested it with an 8ch MXF track transcoding into ProRes 422 MOV using the audio channelization. Result is a stereo ProRes. See attached screenshot.

Thanks, I did the same thing but some audio from 8 channel source still didn't come across. Adobe support said that my issue is a Quicktime issue.

That would qualify as a bug then. Would you be able to share some media? I can private message you with the instructions in this forum. What are your specs (OS, CPU, GPU, memory)?
