AME not exiting & won't relaunch

On one of our Windows 10 workstations, Adobe Media Encoder is not exiting properly, and as a result won't relaunch. If you end the task in Task Manager or restart the computer, then AME will launch again. 

Currently our workaround is to either leave AME open all the time, or to kill in Task Manager if it gets stuck. However both are less than ideal. 

Some troubleshooting info:

  • Tested in CC 2021 and CC 2022
  • Have not been able to replicate on another workstation
  • Reinstalled AME
  • Cleared caches & preferences

That's weird. Does this happen while working on a specific project? Could you share your system details (OS, CPU, RAM, GPU)?
