AME Stuck on Connecting to Dynamic Link Server with AE 16.1.1 Windows 10 Pro

Hi,

I am encountering this issue as well, in fact, I just had it hang for about 5 minutes, before finally kicking in.

While it was stuck, I checked Windows Task Manager and did not see any abnormal activity. Low CPU, RAM, and Graphics Card use.

My system specs are:

  • After Effects 16.1.1
  • Media Encoder 13.1
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX 32-Core Processor 3.00GHz
  • Asus ROG STRIX X399-E Motherboard
  • 128GB DDR4-2666 RAM
  • 2x GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (in SLI/NVLink mode)
  • GeForce Drivers 430.39
  • Samsung SSD 970 EVO 2TB

As you can imagine, encountering such long work interruptions, with an often used program, on a system that is otherwise quite nimble, is pretty frustrating, and I'd really love to get it sorted out.

If there's anything else I can do/test to assist, I'll try and help as I can (work permitting).

Thanks!

Before we start working on this thread. I would like to appreciate the fact and thank you for providing all the system related details which are helpful to analyze the issue.

    • Have you tested the issue with other compositions?
    • What happens when you import a .aep file or any other video file directly in Adobe Media Encoder?

    Let me know.

    Thanks,

    Shivangi

    Hi brittnell,

I have branched this discussion to a new thread and moved it to Adobe Media Encoder (AME) forum so that it can be discussed and resolved separately.

    Thanks,

    Shivangi
