Hi,

I was wondering was did this option do in the mxf options ? I dont find any docs about this online. Does it transcode VBI or ANC data to something ... like VBI line 21 caption on SD material to ANC caption data ? I just want to know whats this option doing and in witch case you would want to check this box.

Thanks.

Premiere Pro editors canpreserve VBI metadata in an MXF workflow when using Adobe Media Encoder (AME), e.g. when selecting multiple clips in a sequence and applying a 50% playback speed using the Speed/Duration dialog.

ANC stands for "ancillary data," which refers to non-essential information that is carried alongside video and audio essence data in a media file. Ancillary data can include closed captioning, subtitles, timecode, and other metadata that provides additional context and information about the essence data.

VBI stands for "vertical blanking interval," which is a period of time during which a television signal's scanning beam is returned to the top of the screen after reaching the bottom. During the VBI, there is no visible image on the screen, and this interval was traditionally used to transmit ancillary data, such as closed captioning, teletext, and other information that was not part of the main video signal.

Hope this helps.

Hi, yes I knew what VBI and ANC data was, I tried to export file with this box checked and not checked and used HD file, with and without caption and SD file with and whitout VBI line 21 caption and I did not see any difference in the output file. Thats why i was wondering what this option was used for, its written "transcode" but lets say with a SD imx50 .mxf if I check or un check the box nothing change to the analog caption present in the file. So your response was clear but I still dont know what this option does or in witch case I would like to check this box.
