Encoder crashing while adding custom LUT to proxy encode preset

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be using Premiere's tool for proxy creation for film dailies, and I would love to apply the DP's preferred LUT during that process. I have created custom encode/ingest presets, however anytime I try to add his LUT to the Encode/Effects/Lumetri Look/LUT settings, Encoder crashes. I know the LUT itself works, because I can add it as a Lumetri Color/Input LUT effect within Premiere.

If I can't resolve this issue, my plan is to just encode the proxies at my preferred spec and add the Lumetri color effect to all the clips within Premiere. But I would prefer to just encode the color data within the proxies themselves, in case I have to upload them to a dailies viewer website for the director.

In general I don't understand why the LUT options vary so much between Encoder/ Lumetri Look/LUT and Premiere/Lumetri Color/Input LUT.

My LUT is living here: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/LUTs/Creative

Other specs: MacOS Big SUR Version 11.7.10. Using Encoder 23.0.1.

We have fixed a couple of Color issues in the past. Can you please test the latest 23.6.x in PPro + AME to see it this is still an issue? The Encoder shouldn’t crash in this case. The LUTs should be read correctly in AME and PPro. The preset normally send over the LUT name, not the file path. So if it is available it should work. Otherwise we need to take a look and repro inhouse.

Hey Christina,

Sorry for the poor experience. I'm moving this thread to the Discussions section to gather more information on this problem. I tried exporting with a custom LUT with a custom preset in Media Encoder 24.0, and it seems to export without any issues. Please give it a try and let us know how it goes. If you still see the problem, could you share the LUT and preset with us? Please DM me if you are still waiting for a response within one day.

Thanks,

Ishan
