Help! My GPU occupancy is 0%!

I'm trying to export an 8-second video and surprisingly it takes 2 hours to export! When I checked the CPU and GPU usage I found that Me was only using 6% of the CPU and 0% of the GPU. the total CPU usage was just under 50% and the GPU was even less than 1%.
My computer is a 2018 MacBook Pro 15". the Me version is 22.0 and no plugins are used.
