HEVC encoded with AME playback problem

Hi, i'm having a problem with videos exported using AME or Premiere in HEVC format.

Video exports fine, plays fine, but when i try to jump to any point it freezes. it doesnt freeze the player, just "hangs" there. Tested on two mac systems, intel and m1, and on 5 windows machines using multitude of players. quicktime, vlc, even browsers behave the same way. videos encoded using ffmpeg don't have this issue, neither h264 exported using AME.

exporting with keyframes every 25 frames doesnt solve the issue. every preset, setting, bitrate, framerate produces the same result.

eventually the player "catches up" but it takes forever- jumping 10 minutes takes 7-8 minutes to catch up. also its filesize dependant- same video in 4k will take longer to catch up than the same file in 720p but if the video is small it will take less time. attached is 10min of timecode that has this issue but any "real" video would be much worse.

i think it all began with 23.1, but i'm not sure if it didnt happen earlier.

im running a m1 mini with 16gigs but i dont think it has anything to do, using rosetta produces the same result.

Hi @kozapytapl ,

Sorry for this problem. We have fixed it in the latest beta builds (Build 9 onwards).  This fix is available in both Premiere and Media Encoder beta builds.

Please check out the latest beta build version from the creative cloud and let us know how it goes there.

You can download the latest Beta builds from Creative Cloud --> Beta apps --> Premiere Pro (Beta)/Media Encoder(Beta)

If you still face this issue, please share your project files(&media) here https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/share.html and we will check on our end.

Thanks,
Mayjain
