Question

Hugely long rendering time

I'm trying to render a 1 hour 37 minutes video from After Effects via Media Encoder and it's telling me that the 'remaining time' on the render is over 34 hours(?!) - that's what 34:42:31 means yeah?

What could be going wrong here? Because this is really unacceptable and unusable.

Any help is much appreciated.

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

MacBook Pro (13 inch, M1, 2020)

Memory: 16GB; Type: LPDDR4

Hard drive:

  • Capacity: 500GB
  • Free: 134GB

Does that help?

How long did it actually take to export?

I cancelled the export after an hour. At that point it had only managed to get past the opening credits. I've had to do it in Screenflow as I had a quick turnaround. I had another go today after restarting the computer an it the issue replicated again.

Thanks.

Are you using any third party effects or transitions?

What effects are applied?

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. So I'm not using any third party effects or transitions. I am however using these in-built Adobe transform effects:

  • Opacity
  • Scale

Thanks for your help,

Pete
