Is it possible to close After Effect while the rendering of a project has been exported to Media Enc

Simple question but which is very important.

Is it possible to close After Effect while the rendering of a project has been exported to Media Encoder and is still in progress?

I would like to be able to close After effect to work in PhotoShop (After effect eats all my rams) without losing the current rendering (which takes several hours).

I got my answer, the answer is yes.

Here is another question then. Can I pause rendering, close Media encoder, and later restart media encoder and restore rendering to the state I left it to restart?
