Locked to 2 channels of audio (Multitrack Audio doesn't exist in AME)

I know in Premiere you have to select the number of tracks in your sequence but when you just drag files into this software it's locked to stereo or 2 multitrack channels. You can add hundreds in other open source software, why has this never been fixed ?
