I tried to open Media Encoder 2020 but a message came up, "Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an unexpected error and cannot continue."

I'm using MacBook Pro & macOS Catalina v 10.15.2 (i just updated).  Help!

Same here.

Media Encoder 14.3 wont boot up, Disapears during the splash screen. Running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5

Unistalled and re-installed a few times.

reverted back to 14.2 and that opens but take 4x longer to render than it did do before and often fails near the end of the render.

could really do with an update for this and quick please adobe team as it has totally ruined my workflow.

Can you let us know what is happening

Thanks

Same with me? WTH???

Worked like a charm before update and now nothing... not even the older version of AME.

I have a weekly edit workflow that is now all shot to heck...

I can export directly out of AE but it's dissapointing to have to change my workflow that's been working for months now.

Have the same problem. Not only with Media Encoder, but also with Premiere. Tried to reinstall them etc to no success. Also tried the online suggestions with files in library (SL cache). Also to no success!!!

I'm running 10.15.4

Have the same problem,

When I create a proxy of a video with Premier Pro, it gives me an error when I open media encoder. While it’s opening, appears the following error:

“Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an unexpected error and cannot continue.”

And after that, it closes. But, if I open it separately, it works correctly.

I have tried to install a previous version of Media Encoder and now it does not give an error when opening, but when the program is opened, no queued file appears.

I don’t know what to do…

INFO:

macOS Catalina.  V10.15.4

Premier Pro 14.0.4

Media Encoder 14.0.3 (Files do not appear), 14.0.4 (Error when opening).

I need help I cannot continue without creating a proxy…

Me too! It worked one time by luck and never again could I open it. It has to be a bug.

Same here, the latest update on my Mac has resulted in Media Encoder not working for me.

I uninstalled and reinstalled both Adobe After Effects and Media Encoder, and still no luck.

Hi all,

We're sorry for the delay in response @davidm. This does not sound ideal. Could you share more details before we proceed with troubleshooting?

  • Are you getting this issue only with AME 2020?
  • Has it ever worked fine? Did you try reinstalling the application?

Looking forward to the response.

Thanks,

Shivangi

Same issue.
Catalina 10.15.2

Media encoder 14.0 suddenly won't launch from AE.

Updated to 14.0.1 and problems persists

What I did is to delete the Media Encoder application from your hard drive, reboot your computer and then reinstall the application.  😕😕
