Media Encoder fails with Premiere& After Effects Footage

Hello,

i have a new iMac (Model Retina 5K from 2017). It has a 4,2 GHz Intel Core i7 , 64GB RAM and a Radeon Pro 580 8GB GPU.

I try to render a 6:24min Greenscreen-Video. I have 4 Layers + Audio, it's a very basic Video (News setup) and I used AE-Kompositions and Keylight for the Main Video.
My iMac can't render that Video in H.264 (SD 480p) and needs nearly the whole CPU (the media encoder is still working since 2 hours now). How is that possible and what can I do?

Greetings,
Tabea

Hi tabeah4232618,

Please check the selected Renderer in the Queue panel right bottom corner. Change the Renderer & check the status.

Thanks,

Vidya.

Its "Mercury Playback Engine (OpenCL)". I have the same issues with "Mercury Playback Engine (Metal)" and "just Software" is even slower.
I use the German Version, maybe some terms are a bit different in the english version.

Hi tabeah4232618,

Thanks for the info. It can happen if there is an issue with permissions. Please follow the steps in this article:

Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)

and let us know the status.

Thanks,

Vidya.
