Media Encoder not talking to After Effects at all

When I try to connect to an AE file so I can import comps, ME initially work as it should, dynamically linking to the AE file and then giving me a list of comps to bring in. However, after some random but short amount of time it stops being able to connect to the file, loading bar just barber poling away to infinity. If I restart my entire computer, I can usually get another short file encoded before it locks up on me again. Everything else on my system is working fine, by the way.

I'm assuming this is a bug with the new ME, since I havent had this problem at all until just now, this being the first time I've tried to use ME since updating. If there's a work around or something I'm not doing correctly, I'd be happy to hear about it.
