Media Encoder - not very usable - ideas

I need to encode (hugely compress about 5,000 video files into something I can edit - I'm making video proxies).

How can I apply my custom preset to all files at once? How can I save all output files to new location at once?

Also, how can I delete the default output preset on every one, all at once?

I thought adobe was user-friendly, this has me thinking!
