Media encoder not working with after effects

For the past few months my Media Encoder almost never works with AE. I have to render in AE and drop that mov into ME for an mp4.

There's the dynamic link errors and something about no connection. I think my laptop is no longer equiped to handle AE and ME. Any help would be very awesome.
