Media encoder randomly stops

Hello guys,

We are trying to convert a 90 minute MXF file into a DCP file. But after about 1 hour of rendering its randomly stops without any warning or error. We are using an Mac Pro and are converting to an usb-3 connected external harddrive. 

Any ideas about this? What could cause this? Would love to hear any thoughts.
