Media Encoder v 22.0 (bulid 107) Stalled-not rendering

A couple of hours ago all Adobe apps were updated -ALL of Them!- Tried rendering an AE project, 5 seconds in length, via Media Encoder.

First attempt via standard file menu. ME starts up but project does not show anywhere.

Second attempt tried from Comp menu, ME, project shows in ME and starts up blue barber pole graphic below "Connecting to project" that's all it does nothing else after about an hour.

Third attempt went to add to render queue  in AE- that works rendering only in avi format though.

Tried the add to ME button in AE render queue window, same result as second attempt.

When I close ME it claims rendering is in progress. Considering it took less than 5 seconds to render in AE, no it isn't.

Clearly this is a software issue not hardware as so many others are reporting similar problems and I guarantee we are not using the same hardware. Plus it is possible to render direct in AE -have not tried PR yet.

So had some more time to experiment today.

Tried to render in ME from Pr2022 it worked, as did rendering the project via ME's media browser.

Not so lucky with AE.

Tried via ME's media browser -got stuck on "connecting to project".

BTW yesterday I was working over my network not a local hard drive so I moved/copied the whole folder to local HD.

Did not make a danged bit o' difference. Grr

I have tried the good ol' uninstall/reinstall -no difference.

No matter which way I try to render an AE project/composition via ME it does not work.

The only way I've been able to render from AE is using AE's render queue.

Going to restart my learning curve of Resolve.

Getting tired of spending $600 plus a year on software that ends up costing ten times that much in lost time trouble shooting.

Assuming you are on a Mac, here is the solution...

I found out yesterday, that some of Apple's OS security features breaks the links between AE, AME and Premiere, particularly for Dynamic Links and tasks like queuing projects for rendering in AME.

Here's something for you to try, this has worked for me and others....

Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab

Scroll down to a folder called "Full Disk Access" > Click the padlock and enter your user password

Now use the "+" button to add AE / AME / Premiere Pro to this list.

Do the same to the folder called "Files and Folders"

After this restart your Mac and **it should** be working fine, connections will work etc

The problem with assuming is....:)

Not on a Mac.

PC based here.

But you do make a potentially valid point in that the anti-virus/security protocols maybe at fault here. I'll experiment later -way too busy getting other work out- today and report back.

Thanks for the suggestion.

If anyone else out there has already tried and succeded please post/point at your solution.

I'm using Avast anti-virals BTW.

Y'all enjoy your day.
