Media Encoder won't overwrite files (it'll just add a new file with an _number)

I'm trying to get AME to overwrite files. Every time I export (via Adobe Animate) a file, AME will add a new sequntially numbered one, which I then have to rename every time so my editing app will "see it" and substitute the linked file in the project.

I tried to uncheck the "Increment outupt file name if file with same name exists" in AME Preferences, but when I go export from Animate I get a failed export message.

All I want AME to do is to overwrite the files, but apparently... no go.
