.mxf to h.264 conversion hardware acceleration error

When converting recordings from a Sony Anycast to H.264, I get an error popup "your system does not support hardware acceleration for the current settings". The only way it allows me to enable hardware acceralation is by choosing the 'Base' H.264 profile. Why might this be?
